Emirati Drivers Excited About Clearwater Challenge

The Emirati duo of Eisa Al Ali and Salem Al Adidi are targeting nothing but podium finishes as Victory Team makes its trans-Atlantic foray at this weekend’s Super Boat International (SBI) in Clearwater, Florida.

With top-class boats manufactured at Victory Team’s base in Jebel Ali, reigning Class One champions Al Ali and Al Adidi will be teaming up with John Tomilson and Gary Ballough respectively as Dubai makes its debut in possibly the most challenging form of powerboat racing anywhere in the world.

“Nothing is going to be easy this weekend. We have some of the best drivers from across the world here in Clearwater, and it is our intention to go about our task in a quiet and calculated manner and ensure that we too are equal, if not better than any of them,” Al Ali said before the start of the racing weekend.

“All racers in Clearwater are here to win. There are some former champions including ‘Miss Geico’ who will be among those to watch out for. And while we respect each of these contestants here, we will not be overawed as we go about our task or targeting the top two positions on the podium. We want to make this a memorable debut and to do that we have to fight for the chequered flag” he added.

Al Ali’s teammate, Al Adidi – who has been paired along with Tomilson – was eyeing the weekend battle as a dress rehearsal for the season-finale in Key West from November 4-11.

“While our primary focus would be on the final race in Key West in November, we are very excited to be participating here as this will give us an indicator of where we stand,” Al Adidi said.

“This race is going to be a brand-new and a great experience for both of us. The water conditions will be different and that alone will bring in a new and different sort of dimension to our participation here. But once we get inside the cockpit of the boat things will be totally different,” he stated.

World champions on their debut last season, Al Adidi and Al Ali are both excited to be flying the UAE flag at this weekend’s Super Boat International (SBI) in Clearwater, Florida.

“We are very excited to fly our UAE flag at such a prestigious event. No doubt, this is a brand-new experience for us and we can definitely pick up a few things and become better drivers to benefit our country,” Al Ali narrated.

“We have at least three plans in mind and right now we are on to Plan A. Once we go through the mandatory practice session we will know exactly where we stand on the world stage,” Al Adidi chipped in.
